This original illustration was commissioned to celebrate the occasion of The Northern Club Foundation’s 2026 Deco & Diamonds Gala, depicting The Northern Club at 19 Princes Street, Auckland, as it appeared one hundred years earlier, in the late 1920s.

Terry and Rosie illustrated Art Deco New Zealand, a landmark book celebrating New Zealand’s finest Art Deco architecture, and they brought the same meticulous hand to this commission. Working in hand-drawn vector graphics, they placed the clubhouse in early evening light - rendered in gold, blue, and soft mauve - with a Ford Model A and an Austin 7 anchoring the scene in its era. A neighbouring building was reconstructed from a historic photograph to complete the streetscape. The New Zealand flag flies proudly alongside a poetic long white cloud. 

Proceeds from the sale of this print support the restoration of The Northern Club’s Category 1 heritage building.
